Breast ironing (also called breast flattening) in the early years of puberty, it is a harmful practice in which a girl's developing breasts are pressed, massaged, pounded, or compressed - sometimes using heated objects - to try to stop or delay breast development. It is most commonly carried out on girls between about 9 and 15 years old and is usually performed by female family members.
