Intent, Implementation, and Impact in Practice
This course supports early years professionals to develop a clear, purposeful curriculum and confidently understand the 3 Is — Intent, Implementation, and Impact — within an early years context.
The 3 Is are central to how curriculum quality is understood and discussed in early years settings. However, many practitioners find the language abstract or worry about “getting it right.” This course breaks the 3 Is down into clear, practical concepts, showing how they link to everyday practice, planning, and provision — without overcomplicating what effective early years education already does well.
What you’ll learn

- A clear understanding of Intent, Implementation, and Impact
- How to articulate your curriculum intent in a child-centred way
- Turning intent into effective teaching, interactions, and environments
- Understanding impact through observation, assessment, and reflection
- How the 3 Is link to the EYFS, development matters, and inclusive practice
